To get us started, I wanted to ask anyone who has started a new undergraduate course to offer advice to others who are using the Stony Brook materials as the starting point for developing a course of their own.
We're interested in anything you have to say, but if a prompt helps, here are questions on my mind:
- What has been the most difficult part of starting a new News Literacy course?
- Do the lecture scripts help? (We wrote them to provide context to images on the slides, but we've always wondered if they get used much)
- Is the New York-centricity of our examples problematic for classrooms from other regions?
